Dr. Ignacio Guerrero is an Executive Consultant specializing in CTO consulting services with a focus on Geospatial Technology.

 

Dr. Guerrero served as Chief Geospatial Architect at Rolta India Ltd. from mid 2008 until 2011 (March). He was a member of Rolta’s management team, responsible for shaping the company technology architecture and product strategy.

 

Dr. Guerrero retired from Intergraph Corporation in August 2007. At the time of his retirement, Dr. Guerrero was Executive Vice President of Technology in the Security, Government & Infrastructure Division. In this position, he was responsible for technology strategy, architecture, and innovation.

 

From 2001 to 2005, Dr. Guerrero served as head of the Mapping and Geospatial Product Center at Intergraph Corporation. In this capacity, he was directly accountable for managing all aspects of the development process creating geospatial foundation and industry-specific products for Intergraph. This included strategic product planning, technical direction and strategy, software engineering, and general day-to-day operations.

 

Prior to this position, Dr. Guerrero worked in the GeoMedia software development organization from its inception in 1995. As a development manager, he was involved in the design, implementation, and testing of various sub-systems, components, and complete GIS products based on GeoMedia Technology.

 

Earlier in his career at Intergraph, Dr. Guerrero worked as a software engineer, designer and manager on a broad spectrum of GIS products, including mapping products for Petroleum Exploration, Environmental Applications, Cartography, and Aeronautical Charting as well as generic GIS analysis products.

 

Dr. Guerrero represented Intergraph as a member of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Planning Committee (2001-2003 and 2005-2007). In 2006 Dr. Guerrero was elected as one of the original members of the OGC Architecture Board (OAB). From early 2000 and prior to joining the Planning Committee, he served as a member of the OGC Technical Committee.Dr. Guerrero has presented the OGC technical vision at various academic and industry venues.

 

Dr. Guerrero holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook (1975). Prior to joining Intergraph, he was Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts, USA (1975-1977) and Assistant Professor of Mathematics at The University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, USA (1977-1981).
